Spreading The Word in the USA

The Cairns Convention Centre recently attended the inaugural IMEX America, a tradeshow aimed at the business events market which attracted over 2,000 hosted buyers, 1700 attendees and 2,000 exhibitors.

Pre-scheduled appointments were undertaken with key association buyers from throughout the world with special emphasis on those that are headquartered in the USA. There was great interest from buyers keen to learn about the benefits of hosting meetings in Cairns and what our destination has to offer delegates.

2011 Abacus/AM Institute Convention

Abacus the industry body representing the Australian mutual sector, comprising credit unions, mutual building societies and friendly societies is joining with the Australian Mutuals Institute to host their 2011 Convention at the Cairns Convention Centre from 22-26 October 2011.

The theme of the Convention is "Optimism and Opportunity".

Recent Wins

The Centre continues to demonstrate its competitiveness in the international marketplace with several recent bid wins, proving Cairns is an ideal destination for conference organisers. Some recent wins include:
